
Avon Lake is a highly educated, professional community with a top quality school system located in Northern Ohio between the cities of Cleveland and Lorain and is part of Lorain County. Avon Lake's geographical limits lie off the shores of Lake Erie to the North; the land area is roughly 12 square miles. The population is approximately 20,224.
The community is comprised of public beaches, 20 miles of bike trails, a boat launch and many other recreational amenities. Avon Lake boasts a Metropark, together with 220 additional acres of parklands and playgrounds. Other activities for the enjoyment of residents include a municipal swimming pool, golf courses, swim club, tennis courts, outdoor ice rink, youth sports, and adult sports programs.
Located only 15 miles West of Cleveland, residents have convenient access to the museums, Indians', Browns' and Cavs' stadiums, Playhouse Square, world-famous Cleveland orchestra and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
